1521, mostly in the In 1521, Ferdinand Magellan, an explorer par excellence and religious zealot, w/ Enrique, a Malay slave by his side, attempts to conquer an independent kingdom in the Philippines, for Christianity and the Spanish crown. Black Henry imaginatively reconstructs those events and the ensuing tragic results, with Enrique as its central character.

Visayan islands of Zebu and Maktan. Action takes place over the course of two months.
