Bio

I’m award winning
documentary filmmaker based in New York. I am
responsible for finding ‘stories,’ creating, writing, researching,
interviewing, casting, and directing. I’m a people magnet, as
a guerilla filmmaker I have learned to create high-end emotional films
with little or no finances in severely restricted time frames. My gift
as a filmmaker is the ability to create strikingly vivid filmic and
emotional portraits of real people.

As a filmmaker, I have a strong spiritual connection to all kinds of
real people ranging from private investigators, to children, to senior
citizens to rapper/gangsters up in Harlem. My ability to make them feel
safe and understood allows me to capture deep, intimate personal
interviews and ‘performances’ as well as ‘emotional’ portraits of their
lives.

In June, I completed a 16mm black and white short as a tribute to the troops from Iraq and Afghanistan entitled, While We Lie Sleeping. (on my website: www.inversionfilms.com).

Over the July 4th holiday, I directed a short film which I was commissioned to do, on a New York artist, entitled, “Blue: the catch series” for her opening at the TRIa gallery in Soho in September. Pat Methene will be composing the music.

In addition, I’ve worked as a documentary researcher on a recent pitch for Academy Award Nominated filmmaker, Liz Garbus; a casting researcher for Strickman-Ripps on an internal video for IBM; and an interviewer/writer for film site: ioncinema.com.
