Just a list of sites to help self-producers:

Note we don’t endorse any of these, although we like the revenue sharing ideas best, but all here just here for reference (so make sure you research). Feel free to add your recommendations in comments below.

If you’re considering more upload/post options– for instance, to get more hits or explore different features– TechCrunch just posted a good overview of the most popular current video hosing sites (ala YouTube).

TechCrunch wrote:
…Even if YouTube remains the destination of choice for the vast majority of consumers, producers ought to take a serious look at the alternative services. They often support more file types, bigger uploads, and higher resolutions. They also place fewer restrictions and provide an array of features simply overlooked by YouTube. That said, a few of these services are mere YouTube clones and hope to follow in YouTube’s footsteps by providing very basic features…

As mentioned, it’s probably always best for indie producers to cross-post on YouTube (if possible), but other sites may offer better services/features depending upon your unique production needs and target audience. Ful article at TechCrunch.
